Katherine Heigl has opened up about growing up within "a White bubble." She also shares the impact that this realization has had on the parenting style of her adoptees who are multi-racial. The actress from "Firefly Lane", revealed to the media that it did not matter how dark her skin color was for her. After meeting her Korean-American adopted sister she realized the difference in how people were treated by her. "I asked my sister, Meg, if she had received the same treatment when she was walking around with our parents and in a different manner when she was out by herself without them. Meg replied, "Oh, yeah, all the times! It made me realize I was so ignorant," Heigl said to parents. The actor said she became angry but felt she needed use that anger to aid the adopted children she has. Heigl as well as her long-time husband -- the singer Josh Kelley -- have a 4-year-old son together, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. They have took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) with a black complexion and was adopted in 2009.
